Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused the Congress government of being responsible for the ethnic conflict in Manipur. Sarma claimed that the conflicts have their genesis in the faulty policies of Congress governments during Manipur’s formative years. Meiteis and Kukis are in an ethnic conflict since May 3, and more than 160 people have lost their lives, while several have been injured in the violence. According to Sarma, repairing the fault lines created by seven decades of misgovernance will take time.
