Sikkim CM announces 12-month maternity leave, 1-month paternity leave for govt employees
The Indian state of Sikkim will provide its employees with 12 months of maternity leave and one month of paternity leave, according to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. The benefit will be made possible by changes to service rules. Tamang said the move would allow workers to better care for their families. Sikkim, which has a population of 6.32 lakh, is India’s smallest state.
