Ajit Pawar staking claim to NCP symbol: Sharad Pawar group says will reply to EC’s letter; Praful Patel declines to comment
The Election Commission has sought a response from the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) regarding Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ajit Pawar’s faction’s claim to the NCP name and symbol. NCP leader Praful Patel declined to comment. Ajit Pawar had previously announced a split in the NCP and joined the Maharashtra government with eight other NCP legislators.
