Will assess ground situation to make recommendations to govt, Parliament: Oppn leaders ahead of INDIA bloc’s Manipur visit

A delegation of opposition MPs from the Indian bloc, including Congress’s Gaurav Gogoi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, will visit the north-eastern state of Manipur to assess the situation following two months of ethnic violence in the area. The delegation will make recommendations to the Indian government and Parliament following their visit. The opposition has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi issue a statement on the situation followed by a discussion on it in Parliament.
