Arguing that passing bills without taking up the no-confidence motion was against the rules and precedent, these Opposition MPs also reminded Birla that past governments, including that of AB Vajpayee, had halted all other business before the House and started a debate and vote on no-confidence motions whenever they faced such a motion.
