India’s MLAs worth more than combined budgets of NL, Mizoram & Sikkim; Karnataka’s MLAs have highest total assets
The average asset of sitting MLAs in state assemblies and union territories is Rs 13.63 crore, according to a finding by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW). The nonprofits analysed the election affidavits of 4001 MLAs out of 4033 across 28 State Assemblies and two union Territories. The MLAs represent 84 political parties and independents.
