The decision of the Allahabad High Court allowing a survey by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the Gyanvapi mosque in Uttar Pradesh has been welcomed by BJP leaders, who believe that the truth about a temple at the site will finally come out. The high court dismissed a petition from the Gyanvapi committee challenging a district court order directing the ASI to determine by survey whether the mosque next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple had been built on top of a temple.
