Vijay Wadettiwar, a Congress MLA, was appointed as the Leader of Opposition by the Maharashtra assembly on Thursday after the post was left vacant for over a month. The former Leader of Opposition, Ajit Pawar, resigned from his position on June 30, then joined the Eknath Shinde government on July 2, leaving the position vacant. Wadettiwar has previously served in the position for four months in the past.
