Tata Motors share price jumped as much as 2.7 per cent in early trade on Friday after the company reported 21 per cent year-on-year rise in group global sales figures for the month ended September, 2015.
At 9.42 am, Tata Motors was trading 1 per cent up at Rs 384.65. The scrip opened at Rs 389 and had touched a high and low of Rs 391.05 and Rs 383.70, respectively, in trade so far. Sensex was down 74 points at 26,936.12.
Tata Motors Group’s global sales in September 2015, including Jaguar Land Rover, stood at 97,102 units, higher by 21 per cent, over September 2014. The cumulative sales for this fiscal stood at 478,004 units, higher by 4 per cent over last fiscal. The global sales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in September 2015 were 33,768 vehicles, lower by 3 per cent, compared to September 2014. Cumulative commercial vehicles sales for this fiscal stood at 179,727 units, lower by 2 per cent over last fiscal.
Global sales of all passenger vehicles in September 2015 were at 63,334 units, higher by 40 per cent, compared to September 2014. The cumulative passenger vehicles wholesales for this fiscal stood at 298,277 units, higher by 7.37 per cent, over the last fiscal. Global wholesales of Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles in September 2015 were at 12,260 units, lower by 1 per cent, over September 2014. Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were at 67,080 vehicles, higher by 18 per cent, compared to last fiscal.
Global sales for Jaguar Land Rover were 51,074 vehicles (Includes CJLR sales). Jaguar sales for the month were 8,211 vehicles and cumulative sales were 42,889 vehicles, while Land Rover sales for the month were 42,863 vehicles and cumulative sales were 1,88,308 vehicles. Cumulative sales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were 231,197 vehicles.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 391.05 and Rs. 351.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,11,172.00 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.35 per cent while institutions and non-institutions held 36.94 per cent and 7.32 per cent, respectively.
