The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty are likely to open in green on Friday tracking SGX Nifty and firm global markets.
At 8.22 am (IST), SGX Nifty was up 25.50 points, or 0.31 per cent, at 8,213.
Asian shares got a bright start on Friday, catching some of Wall Street’s shine after upbeat US price and jobless claims data calmed some recent concerns about the strength of the US economy. Hang Seng, Nikkei and Shanghai were up 0.76 per cent, 1.42 per cent and 0.97 per cent, respectively.
Wall Street logged solid gains overnight, after the number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits fell back to a 42-year low last week. That suggested the labour market remained strong even though recent jobs data has sent mixed signals. Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed 1.28 per cent up at 17141.75 on Thursday.
Among corporate news, Reliance Industries (RIL) is scheduled to announce its Q2 September 2015 results on Friday
Back home, domestic equity markets snapped 3-day losing streak on Thursday. Sensex and Nifty gained 0.86 per cent and 0.88 per cent, respectively.
