Kejriwal slams proposed bill to alter Election Commissioner selection process

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticised the Centre’s proposed bill which would change the committee to select Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners, taking away the Chief Justice’s involvement and replacing it with nominated Central government ministers. Kejriwal accused the Prime Minister of trying to gain control over the selection of Election Commissioners, a factor which could affect the fairness of elections as faithful individuals are likely to be appointed.
