The Congress party has criticised the government’s statement that it had requested a discussion on Manipur during the recently concluded Parliamentary session, calling the claim “bogus.” Pralhad Joshi, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, said there was a desire for discussion on the topic and accused opposition parties of not joining in. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh rebutted the claim, noting the prime minister only spoke on the topic for four minutes despite a 133-minute speech.
