The new government of Karnataka has ordered an investigation into allegations that demands were made for a “40% commission” paid out in return for public projects during the previous BJP-led government in the state. The probe will be led by retired high court judge, Justice Nagamohan Das, and will examine whether administrative approvals were given as per rules and the quality of the work and ascertain whether the estimates were in accordance with existing schedules of rates.
