About 12% of the sitting MPs in the Rajya Sabha are billionaires, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and the National Election Watch. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have the highest percentage of billionaire parliamentarians, while 33% of those analysed have declared criminal cases against themselves. Of the 225 MPs analysed, 41 have declared serious criminal cases and four have cases related to crimes against women. While 85 BJP MPs were analysed, 23 had criminal cases against them. For the Congress, 12 of the 30 analysed had criminal cases against them.
