Ahead of state polls, EC makes fresh push for eco-friendly campaigns
Ahead of assembly polls in five states, the Election Commission has urged political parties to avoid plastic and polythene for making posters and banners during campaigning. In a consolidated set of instructions 1999 onwards, issued on making election campaigns eco-friendly, the poll panel emphasised its concern on environmental hazards caused by non-biodegradable materials.
