Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated that if the party comes to power in the next assembly elections, they will conduct a caste census in the state. Kharge accused the central government of attempting to change the constitution and emphasized the importance of protecting it. He also criticized the BJP for only remembering Sant Ravidas during elections and promised to establish a university in his name if the Congress wins in Madhya Pradesh. Kharge’s visit to Sagar was aimed at attracting SC votes, as he himself belongs to the SC community.
