UP Congress keen to field Priyanka Gandhi from Varanasi: Ajay Rai
The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee is planning to propose senior leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as a candidate from Varanasi in the next Lok Sabha elections. Ajay Rai, the newly appointed state president of the party, stated that they want Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Varanasi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Varanasi has been a stronghold for the BJP since 1991, with the Congress winning it only once in 2004.
