Modi govt ‘weaponizing’ Aadhaar to deny most vulnerable citizens their social welfare benefits: Congress
The Congress party has accused the central government of using Aadhaar and technology to deny social welfare benefits to vulnerable citizens. The party demanded the release of payments owed to workers under the MGNREGA scheme. The government had extended the Aadhaar-based payment system for wage payments, but Congress claimed that 41.1% of job card holders remained ineligible.
