Ex President Ram Nath Kovind-led panel to study One Nation, One Election

The Indian government has formed a committee to examine the feasibility of holding simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, according to Union Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Pralhad Joshi. This announcement comes ahead of a special session of Parliament later this month. Former President Ram Nath Kovind has been asked to chair the committee, marking the first time a former President has been given such a role.
