Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress for not taking action against its alliance partner, DMK, over controversial comments on Sanatan Dharma. Sarma accused the Congress of hiding behind the concept of “Freedom of Speech” and claimed that the party is involved in a conspiracy to annihilate Sanatan Dharma. Congress leader Karan Singh also objected to the comments, calling them unfortunate and unacceptable. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh demanded an apology from Congress and its alliance partners for the remarks made by Udhayanidhi Stalin. Several BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, have strongly reacted to Udhayanidhi’s statements.
