The Ghosi assembly bye-election in Uttar Pradesh saw a voter turnout of over 20% by 11 am, according to the Election Commission of India. Additionally, bye-elections are being held in six other assembly constituencies across Uttarakhand, Kerala, Tripura, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. The results of the bye-elections will be released on September 8. This election marks the first contest between the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition bloc’s newly formed Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).
