“Country was and will always remain Bharat”: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar amid controversy

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized Congress for taking issue with an invitation for a G20 dinner addressed to the ‘President of Bharat’ instead of ‘India’. Chandrasekhar stated that Congress has a problem with everything and that the country is Bharat and will always remain so. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had earlier accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of distorting history and dividing India, expressing concern over the use of ‘Bharat’ in the invitation. BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav also supported the use of ‘Bharat’ and called for its inclusion in the Constitution.
