Bhaichung Bhutia says open to joining Chamling’s Sikkim Democratic Front

Former footballer and politician Bhaichung Bhutia has expressed openness to joining the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) led by former chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling. Talks are currently underway, and Bhutia stated that details will be provided once they are finalised. The fate of Bhutia’s own party, the Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP), is also being discussed within the party. Bhutia has been holding meetings with Chamling to develop a common strategy against the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) led by Chief Minister P S Golay.
