Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has stated that the Election Commission is prepared to conduct elections in accordance with legal provisions, amidst the controversy surrounding the ‘One Nation, One Election’ concept. Kumar emphasized that the Commission’s duty is to conduct elections within the stipulated time frame as per the Constitution and the Representation of the People Act. The Centre has formed an eight-member High-Level Committee, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, to examine the issue and make recommendations.
