The counting of votes for the seven assembly seats across six states that went to bypoll is set to begin on Friday. The bypoll results are important for the INDIA bloc against the BJP-led NDA ahead of upcoming state assembly elections and the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. The seats were previously held by various parties including BJP, Samajwadi Party, Congress, and CPI(M). The voter turnout varied across the constituencies, with Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh recording the lowest at 49.42% and Boxanagar in Tripura recording the highest at 86.34%.
