Omar Abdullah on India-Bharat debate: Let Centre bring issue to Parliament if it has the courage
Omar Abdullah challenged the Indian government to bring up the issue of changing the name of the country to Bharat in Parliament. He stated that it would require a two-thirds majority in the Parliament to change the name and amend the Constitution. Abdullah emphasized that both names, India and Bharat, are written in the Constitution and cannot be removed. He also commented on the ongoing G20 meeting in New Delhi, stating that the citizens of Delhi will benefit from the money spent on its makeover.
