Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been acquitted by a local court in a complaint filed against him for allegedly not disclosing criminal cases pending against him in his poll affidavit. The court found that there was no intention on Fadnavis’ part to hide the information. The complaint was filed by an advocate who alleged that Fadnavis did not disclose cases of cheating and forgery registered against him in 1996 and 1998. Fadnavis claimed it was an inadvertent mistake by his previous lawyer.
