Nagaland Assembly adopts a resolution to exempt the state from Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
The Nagaland Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution to exempt the state from the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The resolution, supported by BJP MLAs and the Chief Minister, requests the exemption of the state from the UCC. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said that he hopes the Centre will not allow itself to compromise on its agreement, or fail to take account of the constitutional provisions for Nagas.
