The DMK government has launched a Rs 1,000 monthly financial assistance scheme for women in Tamil Nadu. The scheme, announced on the birth anniversary of Dravidian icon and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C N Annadurai, aims to provide basic income to 1.06 crore women in the state. The assistance will be paid through Direct Benefit Transfer.
