Sonia Gandhi likely to be lead speaker of Congress to discuss Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha today
Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, will be the main speaker for the party during the debate on the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. The bill, which aims to provide a 33% quota for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday and will be discussed on Wednesday. The bill has also been approved by the Union Cabinet. If passed, it will increase the number of seats for women in the Lok Sabha to 181.
