Government sources have stated that making delimitation the basis for reserving one-third of Lok Sabha and state assembly seats for women will instill public trust in the process and protect it from future judicial challenge. The Delimitation Commission, led by a retired Supreme Court judge, conducts its activities openly and incorporates objections and suggestions from stakeholders. The process is based on scientific rigor and transparency, with the forthcoming Census 2021 serving as the initial step.
