“Women have got their due after long struggle”: Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi on passage of quota Bill

Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the women’s reservation Bill was passed in both Houses of Parliament. The Bill provides for 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies. After the Bill cleared its final legislative hurdle in the Rajya Sabha, Lekhi acknowledged the long struggle women had faced and praised PM Modi for his role in getting the Bill passed.
