Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused the Karnataka government of succumbing to pressure from the ruling DMK and the INDIA bloc and releasing Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu without consulting any party or farmers. He stated that the Congress government released the water as it could not survive without the support of the DMK in Tamil Nadu.
