Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy criticized the Congress government for detaining farmers and activists protesting the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. He demanded the immediate release of protesters and farmers, as well as the cessation of water flow to Tamil Nadu. Kumaraswamy accused the Congress government of favoring Tamil Nadu over Kannadigas and questioned the government’s allegiance.
