The Congress party criticized the National Medical Commission (NMC) for its assessment of medical colleges, stating that many of them had ghost faculty and senior residents. The NMC replied to the Associations of Emergency Physicians of India (AEPI), acknowledging that none of the institutes met the requirement of 50% attendance and that there was a lack of doctors in the emergency medicine department.
