Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party for dividing the country on caste lines and playing with the emotions of the poor. This comes after the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar released findings of its caste survey, which revealed that OBCs and EBCs constitute 63% of the state’s population. The Congress has promised a caste-based census if voted to power.
