BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has demanded that the Election Commission ban the Congress party for a poster that equates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime with the Tughlaq era. Naqvi believes that the poster is a “fit case” for the poll panel to derecognize the Congress and impose a ban on it. The Congress’s Kerala unit had previously released a poster distorting an image of Muhammed bin Tughlaq to resemble PM Modi. The BJP had also recently portrayed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as ‘Ravan’, the demon king from the Ramayana.
