The EC has announced the poll schedule for five states in India: Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram. These upcoming state elections are seen as a semi-final before the 2024 assembly elections and will be a major test for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The polls in five states will take place between November 7-30, 2023. Except Chhattisgarh, all states will go to polls in one phase. The results will be announced on December 3, 2023.
