The Congress Working Committee has officially supported Rahul Gandhi’s proposal for a caste-based census and removal of the 50% cap on reservations if they come to power. The party also promised to incorporate an OBC sub-quota for women in legislatures and implement it immediately. Gandhi stated that BJP governments would need to conduct caste surveys or step aside for Congress governments.
