18 BJP MPs in fray shows tough state poll battles
The BJP's decision to field 18 MPs in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh has sparked speculation that the party is looking to downsize some MPs while positioning others as challengers to established state leaders. In Madhya Pradesh, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, and Kailash Vijayvargiya are seen as potential replacements for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. However, there is also the possibility that these MPs have been fielded to confine them to state politics. In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the BJP has also fielded MPs in the assembly polls.
