If national consensus not achieved on simultaneous polls, it shouldn’t be thrust on people: Ex-CEC Quraishi
Former Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi has stated that if there is no national consensus on conducting simultaneous elections, it should not be forced upon the people. Quraishi also expressed his hope that the present Election Commission will take swift and neutral action against violations of the model code of conduct in the upcoming assembly polls.
