Rajasthan Polls: The Congress party plans to highlight its demand for national status to the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) as it begins its election campaign in eastern Rajasthan. The ERCP aims to address irrigation and drinking water problems in the region’s 13 districts. The Congress aims to secure a substantial number of the 83 Assembly seats in the region. CM Ashok Gehlot has been demanding national status for the project, which is estimated to cost over Rs 40,000 crore.
