The Andhra Pradesh government is set to start a caste census for Backward Classes communities from November 15. The census aims to better serve the 139 communities falling under this category. The village secretariat system and volunteer system will be extensively used for the caste census. The census will help determine the numerical strength and level of representation of these communities in various fields. The state government will also create an email address and an app to gather suggestions from the Backward Classes communities.
