The main accused in a multi-crore drug racket, Lalit Patil, has been arrested by the Mumbai police after escaping from judicial custody. Patil’s escape had caused controversy, with allegations that ministers from the Shiv Sena were protecting him and that the state was becoming like Punjab. Patil had previously been arrested in 2020 and escaped from a hospital in Pune where he was receiving treatment.
