The former Prime Minister and leader of Janata Dal (Secular), H D Deve Gowda, dissolved the state working committee and removed C M Ibrahim, the president of the party’s Karnataka unit. This action was taken in response to Ibrahim’s protest against the decision to create an alliance with the BJP.
