Activist Manoj Jarange, speaking at a rally in Pune, demanded that all Marathas in Maharashtra be given the Kunbi certificate to qualify for reservation under the OBC category. He urged community members not to resort to violence or suicide. Jarange stated that the deaths of individuals seeking quota could have been avoided if the government had acted earlier.
