High Court directs EC to allot common symbol to party in 4 states going to polls in Nov

The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has directed the Election Commission to allot a common symbol for the ‘Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal’ in the upcoming elections in four states. The court issued notice to the EC and others, seeking their response within four weeks. The petitioner, ‘IkkJutt Jammu’, claims to be a registered political party and changed its name to ‘Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal’ in accordance with rules. The EC did not respond to their request for a common symbol. The next hearing is scheduled for December 11.
