The Opposition BJP accused Karnataka women & child development minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar of going missing after the government’s Gruha Lakshmi scheme failed. The scheme, one of Congress’ election promises, offers monthly assistance to women heads of families in Karnataka. Hebbalkar has faced attacks from Cabinet colleague Satish Jarkiholi and both have rival factions in Belagavi district.
