Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sushil Kumar Shinde, has announced his retirement from electoral politics ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He expressed his desire for his daughter, Praniti Shinde, to contest the elections from his previous seat in Solapur. Shinde, a veteran politician, served as Maharashtra’s chief minister and held various ministerial positions in the Indian government. His daughter, Praniti Shinde, is a three-time MLA and currently the Working President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. The final decision on the candidate will be made by the party high command in Delhi.
