Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil has started an indefinite hunger strike, demanding reservations for the Maratha community. Despite efforts by the Maharashtra government to dissuade him, Patil refused to call off his fast, questioning why the state has not met the deadline of 40 days to provide reservation to the Maratha community. Patil also highlighted the trust deficit with the government, as police cases against Maratha protestors have not been withdrawn.
